Evaluation of Blood Pressure in Children Treated with Ceftriaxone: A Case-Control Study

Background: In children, high blood pressure can develop into hypertension and its consequences during puberty adulthood. High in children is often secondary to other causes, including renal diseases. Nephrolithiasis one of the causes hypertension. The extensive use cephalosporins hospitals, particularly ceftriaxone, result nephrolithiasis. Therefore, purpose this study was assess relationship between ceftriaxone treatment elevated children. Method: research conducted as a case-control over an 18-month period from 2018 2019. study, measured 111 aged 3-13 years who were hospitalized at Amir Kabir Hospital Arak received for least 48 hours. As control group, did not receive had their measured. levels percentiles two groups then compared. Result: case groups, mean age 5.1±1.61 6.04±2.4 years, height 109.17±10.71 114.86±12.95 cm, respectively.
